St. Michael Kadem Catholic Mission, Homa Bay Diocese

HISTORY:

St. Michael Kadem Parish was started in 1953 by Mill Hill Missionaries as the fifth mission in the Great S outh Nyanza formerly under Kisumu Diocese. In 1960, it passed over to Kisii Diocese and in 1993 passed to Homa Bay Diocese. Since 1970 the parish has been given to Passionists missionaries. It is situated in Migori District in Nyanza Province.The parish has approximately 40, 000 Christians. It has 45 outstations, over 30 Primary and 8 Secondary Catholic sponsored schools.

PASTORAL ACTIVITIES:

Sacramental: 

• Celebration of Holy Eucharist 
• Frequent benediction and adoration.
• Door to door visitations encouraging and praying with the faithful

Social services:

• Care & Treatment of the sick in collaboration with IVREA Sisters .
• Care of over 100 widows and 100 orphans.
• Care of the elderly and the aging

Education:

• We have build over 10 Primary schools & 8 Secondary schools currently supporting Kadem children .
• In collaboration with IVREA Sisters we run a nursery school for kids within the Parish

St. Joseph Tonga Parish, Homa- Bay Diocese

HISTORY:

Tonga Catholic Parish was started in 1952 by diocesan priests and by 1972 it was taken over by Passionists Missionaries. It is situated within the Suba District in Nyanza Province.The Parish has approximately 50,000 Christians. It has got 40 outstations, over 35 Primary and 9 Secondary Catholic sponsored schools.

Kiranda Catholic mission was started as a sub-parish of Tonga in 1972 by Passionists missionaries. In 1976 it became a full parish under Passionists Missionaries up to date. It is situated within Migori District in Nyanza Province as a political administration. As per church administration it is in Homa Bay diocese.The parish has approximately 40,000 Christians. It has 20 outstations, over 30 Primary and 8 Secondary Catholic sponsored schools.

st. Joseph Sotik Catholic Mission, Kericho Diocese

HISTORY:

St. Joseph Sotik Parish was started in 1989 by Mill Hill Missionaries headed by Fr. Cornelius Roth weiler. It was handed to diocesan management in 2001 and by 2007 it was given to Passionists Missionaries. It is situated in Sotik District, Rift Valley Province and Kericho Diocese.The Parish has approximately 8,000 Christians. It has got 19 outstations spreading in 4 different districts, 3 in Rift Valley and 1 in Nyanza Provinces.
